I just wonder why all of the Disney Pixar’s animation movies always mesmerizing to watch. Toys story 1 and 2, Finding Nemo, Cars, Bugs life, Wall-E, and UP. Although they are animation movie which is most of children like it, but they are also good for adults. and here I want to give my review of a touching animation movie, UP.
The story began when young Carl Fredrickson amazed to be an explorer just like Charles Muntz who explored Paradise Falls to find a giant bird, that was made Carl met with Ellie, a tomboy girl who also passionate in adventure to the Paradise Falls. They became close friend and Ellie asked Carl to promise her in overlooking the Paradise Falls together someday. Ellie asked Carl to cross his heart as his solemnly in his promise to her, as a quite boy and began to admire her, Carl could not reject it.
Carl and Ellie eventually got married and grew old together. They made a lovely life in their restored house which was the first time they met there. Carl working as a toy balloon vendor and Ellie as a zookeeper respectively. They were love each other and they have a wonderful life. When they have decided to have children, and they also have decorated a baby room already, unfortunately, Ellie were unable for giving a birth. Ellie was really in sadness, but Carl was always support her and gave her much love.
Carl and Ellie made a decision to begin saving their money for a trip to the Paradise Falls, but there were always something urgent that made them should spend their money on it. Day by day they spent together with more love and affections. Aaa, I do really love their long last love!!
Recognizing their becoming old, Carl finally decided to arrange the trip to Paradise Falls by bought two tickets trip. But, Ellie suddenly got ill. When they were in hospital, Carl flied a blue balloon to Ellie, as Ellie ever did it to him when a young Carl sick. They looked each other with big affection then Ellie gave Carl a book, Mon Livre D’Adventure, Ellie’s children scrapbook. Then, Ellie passed away and leaved him alone.
Carl lived alone in their house which was surrounded by urban development, and he actually forced to leave his house, but he insisted to live there. Someday, there was a man who broke his mailbox which he built with Ellie. Carl was really angry by what he did to his mailbox and he hit him with his stick holder. That was made him should move to the retirement house as a court ordered to him.
Carl found Ellie’s scrapbook. He looked some photos of their happy marriage added into it, along with a note from Ellie thanking him for the “adventure” and encouraging him to go on a new one. Carl have promised Ellie. He began to cross his heart and made a plan to go Paradise Island with his way.
On the next day, people from retirement house picked him up but to their surprise, thousands helium balloon came up from chimney smoke. Carl’s house began to lift off its foundation and went up and up. “we are on our way Ellie.” Said old Carl while kissing Ellie’s photograph.
Yeah, actually I just give my more intentions to this movie on Carl keep his promise to Ellie even Ellie did not exist anymore. Over all this movie is really good to watch. There are so many lessons we can get from it, and I think, all of Disney Pixar’s animation movies always present many lessons of life. In the end of this story, Carl and Ellie’s house finally can settle on Paradise Falls which was Ellie has dreaming of.
I always love to see an old couple, and by seeing this movie, I believe that in somewhere there are some great story of love and live made by two peoples. UP is about how you keep your promise you made to someone, although he/she does not exist anymore.
